Thank you ladies for your kind words. Creating this LO did help and I do believe it's important to capture all aspects of our lives in our scrapbooks, even the ones that hurt.
great page- and I can relate tho we didn't have rings- just the broken trust & broken promises. I need to do a BOM page myself about my divorce- thanks for sharing- It has helped me- I can't describe how exactly- but it's something I've needed to deal with and "finish" so to speak even tho my divorce was Nov 1989. I have since found a partner I can trust and we will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary this coming February. I hope you find yours.
I think its awesome that you had the courage to do this LO....its so imprtant that we capture all the moments in our lives not jsut the birthday parties and graduations but the things that really make us who we are.....so much raw emotion and though I hate that you had to go threw this I think its beautiful that you had the strength to capture it this way.
this is an awesome lo very heartfelt journaling sad sad story scraptherapy makes some beautiful los tho and this is one of them sry to hear but amazing lo!!!!fav for me
Beautifully done. Too bad such a gorgeous LO has to be about such a terrible thing. Very powerful journaling- I think you were right on to keep the exact words you originally wrote (and I had to go back and read it again to see where it was redundant- it didn't read that way to me).
WOW! This must have been very hard to do. But the torn "Dream" ticket....heartbreaking, ingenious but heartbreaking. I understand and feel your pain ~~ personally. Very nicely done.
Such a beautiful page-you did an excellent job of scrapping what must be one of the most difficult parts of your life. It really is an inspiration to scrap not just the good parts of life...
Wow. What a tough subject to scrap, but I like that you stepped up and did it anyway. Scrapbooking is about our lives, not just the pretty parts of our lives. I've been considering scrapping my first husband in my book, but wasn't sure how to do that without it being... Anyway, thanks for sharing. Your LO is inspiring. I think I'll try it.
I am soo sorry that you had to go through that, but this is a beautiful page! I think your journaling is great b/c it is so heartfelt and it sums up exactly what you felt! Love the punch work and the pearls! Very pretty LO!
Beautiful LO...thank you for sharing something so personal and painful...scrapping is not always only about the good stuff. The dream ticket speaks volumes
A beautiful LO but so sad. I went thru all those feelings last year. I do not know that I could do a LO like you did tho it would be theraputic I am sure! huggs!
I'm so sorry you were put through this betrayal. Good for you, for having the courage to scrap it! I hope it was in some way therapeutic for you to do. I love the torn "dream" ticket...such a stunning visual. Big hugs to you!
For the week long challenge. I wrote the journaling in 2007 after my husband and I separated and after I found out about his affair. The journaling reads...
I used to think this ring was a sign of commitment, a promise of vows, a declaration of love for each other, a sign of being taken off the market so to speak because we've both found "The One." But now when I look at it, all I see is..... betrayal, shattered dreams, broken promises, an empty life, a crushed heart, a mountain of lies, and one stupid mistake.
I realize now I was a little redundant in writing this because I basically wrote a promise of promises, but that's what I wrote at the time and I didn't want to change it. TFL though!! :)
