I love to do tablescapes. This tablescape was done by me and my daughter's MIL, Diana, for our annual floral society fundraiser gala. It was designed to capture the vibrant color, texture and exciting movement of a Flamenco dancer's dress. For our group photo we had the guests clinch a carnation between their teeth and smile. Diana and I are not florists, but we love to create and were thrilled to be asked by other designers -- "where's your shop?"
The filmstrip was created by using single photoshop brushes, which I connected into a row to create the strip. The butterflies are stamped onto transparencies and colored with Copics. The flowers are all handmade or punched, and the large flower at the bottom is an attempt to create a carnation from the same red netting that is under the filmstrip.
