This was one of my dream places to stay at ...and I feel very lucky to say that not only did my dream came true, reality also included Rod Stewart and his wife and son and the place was every bit as gorgeous as I had imagined.
The hotel Splendido where we stayed for three nights is the building furthest to the right in the photo, near the top of the hill. Our room was right on the corner so we had a fabulous view of not only the little shipping inlet, but also of the beautiful Ligurian Sea.
The woodcraft leaves and heart scroll are by Kaisercraft. The lge. blue flower, in between the Prima flowers, I made using anderjackie's easy tutorial. I'm sorry I don't remember the brand of the kraft paper, I have also used some Grants papers & vellum.
P.S. Rod, whilst he was very friendly with everyone, was obviously enjoying some peaceful time there with his family and I didn't see any one pestering them for photographs, so I felt I better not either. They sat at the table directly behind us for dinner one night and I had my back to them but they were close enough for me to easily eavesdrop. Mind you Rod spoke loud enough that most of the restaurant could hear....he certainly wasn't trying to hide. I was like a giggly school girl when I heard them ordering the exact same entree and main that my husband and I had just ordered! The next morning when we went to breakfast (yes, I think they were stalking us) they were the only people in the room and Rod said good morning to us and gave us a few laughs with his antics with his young son. There was a piano in the room, but I resisted the temptation to ask him to sing Maggie May for me!
