This is real dirt. As I was trying to assist his twin off of the front steps to safety I turned back to find him digging in my pots and eating the dirt. The damage was already done so I grabbed the camera! The texture behind the title is brown paint sprinkled with embossing powder to make it look like dirt. It's much more evident when looking at it in person and turned out really cool.
