omg...omg....this is an amazing lo, and I DO mean AMAZING......I love it, I am the biggest fan of distressed and layered papers, and you rocked this one.AND, your journaling is also an amazing story....you should be so proud of them....it brought a tear to my eye, tfs!!!
Wow, Wow, Wow. Jen, this is incredible. I'm excited to see the same embellishment on your 'vintage' page as I just used on mine. LOL - great minds think alike.
Love the story behind this page; but you're very deserving of your parents and you've done a great job raising your boys.
WOW!!!! This is so incredibly gorgeous! Your distressing is incredible and I adore the colors of this page. Everything is just perfect! Fabulous work!!!
oh such a wonderful piece of truly moving, and inspiring journalling as they say straight from the heart...I had a lump in my throat... a very beautiful created page, and unforgettable details surrounding your foto of heroes...fav for me
I think to recognize these traits and cherish them means you do have them within you...sometimes we don't know what we have inside til we are tested. Your layout is gorgeous..love the soft sepia tones and the beautiful design. Your journaling is inspiring.
Here is my LO based on a Round Robin lift challenge and a design of "jabbottscott".
I have a wonderful family and could never pick just one hero from the many role models I was given. So I chose my parents wedding picture with both sets of Grandparents. These people have walked their faith, shown me love and provided guidance and support. Each person in this photo has lived a life of choices I just do not think I could ever make with such grace.
My husband disappeared on my sons 8th birthday. My parents stepped in that day and assisted me, comforted us and gave me and the boys the strength to keep moving forward. I was a single parent, but never a single parent if you know what I mean. Just yesterday for example, my dad took my oldest for his drivers test, then dropped him off at work so I wouldn't miss worktime. My mom would come over every afternoon to sit and do homework while I worked late. My grandmother would slip me a $20 on a Sunday afternoon when she knew I could not afford to get the boys a haircut.
I think of the sacrifices my parents and grandparents made on our behalf and it scares me that I just am not sure I would even considering making those kinds of sacrifices as a parent. I am just not made of that same fiber.
My title is Born into a Family of Heros and I believe I was very lucky.
Thanks for looking and special thanks to jabbottscott for the design. Published March 13,2011 Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, Volume #4 Issue #3
