I'm not entirely sure why it was decided we had to do a tribute to Prince in jazz. Usually, we only do tributes when people are dead and, last I checked, Prince is still alive. I also don't understand why we're not wearing purple for a dance that's called "Purple Reign." Maybe it's just the year for black and some other color (in this case white) costumes or something. This year, we're each wearing different costumes and I was, um, lucky enough, I suppose, to be one of the people picked to wear this costume. When I first saw the picture of it, I was sure that it was a shirt and shorts. When I actually got the costume, I came to discover it was actually one piece and the shorts were attached to the shirt at the waist. We're all pretty sure this is going to lead to someone flashing waaaaaay too much rear end on stage if the shorts ride up too much. And, yes, we are actually dancing to the song "Purple Rain" during the dance...along with "Let's Go Crazy," "Controversy," "Kiss," and "Dance 4 Me." The finale this year is "Baby I'm a Star" which isn't quite as fun as the "Thriller" finale last year.
