Thank you sooooo much! I tried it and it worked!! My husband was impressed too and thinks you're very clever. I had some ugly, bright chipboard mat stacks that I will never use and they worked for this perfectly. Now I've used up some of the mats and have an excellent bowmaker. I just have to paint them and hole punch them now. Thanks again!!
I made my own bow making system since to get the sizes of bows I used MOST, I'd have to buy BOTH the bow easy and the mini bow easy,,,,,25 bucks is NOT what I wanted to spend to make bows.
I took pieces of chipboard the WIDTH I wanted the bow to be and cut a slit roughly in the middle (exact doesn't matter)
Here are all my sizes from 1.5 to 4.5 inches wide.
The wider the ribbon you use, the wider the bow maker you want,,,,,I usually go 2-3x the width of the ribbon for the bow width,,,,,,,,,
Here I am using 1.5 inch ribbon (my fav) so I've used the 3 inch bow maker.
Ribbon will need to be about 16 inches long to have room to trim the edges.
I've ringed all my bow makers together for safekeeping, but you'll want to take the bowmaker you intend to use off the ring for ease in bow making.
