I cannot express how much I love this page. It's so beautiful. The chicken wire fits right in. I love the cross stitch. I used to do cross stitch too, but it's been a long time. My grandkids live on a farm. I may have to get some farm pictures and steal your ideas! It's gorgeous!!
WOW! The real wood frame- the chicken wire photo corners- fantastically inventive details on this wonderfully designed page. That photo is FABULOUS!!! FAVE!
Completely fabulous! Love your page and the photo. You always have the best stories to go with your layouts. I love the doughnuts! Thank goodness for modern times, eh? That chicken wire is very cool. They make chipboard for everything, don't they?! Great design. I love all your little details, like the crossstitches. Perfection.
oh so gorgeous, love the chicken wire corners and that awesome cross stitching....that just looks fabulous!! I love cross stitch, makes me want to pick up mine and actually finish it off!!Truely beautiful lo and love the torn rose and the fact that you have combined all those goodies from your friends!!
Lucky you to have such a fabulous photo of your mom and her sis-love those doughnuts BTW-lol! Beautiful layout with the chicken wire in the corners, the stitching, and I am really lovin' that little distressed music note heart with the swirls!
Beautiful vintage LO! The choice of colors is perfect - vintage/and little girls. Love the extra special touches you added to this - canvas heart and bird!
This is such a cool vintage layout, and it has so much meaning!! Love the chicken wire, the way you "hung" the title and the cross stitching is pure genious! I've come to expect nothing less from you! :) FAVE!!!
I could list everything I love about this lo, but I'd be listing everything - so I'll just say - I LOVE IT ALL!!!! Super creative layout & wonderful old pic! FAVE!
Oh Kelly I love this..very homespun and beautiful. Love the pic. I remember as a little girl (1950s) my teenage babysitter and her friends wore their sox rolled down below their ankles in a donut. I love the cross stitching and that flower on the left that you punched?? out of floral pp. And you made that intricate brown doily??...cool! Love how we find our doilies in strange places...kitchen drawers and creme brule. Anyway it was fun enlarging this and examining every little thing..love the description too.
A couple weeks ago, my mother asked me to reprint an old photo of herself and her cousin on the farm where she grew up. I think they're about 6 or 7 in the photo, maybe younger. I'm surprised these two little ones are playing outside in pretty white dresses! ha ha ha! But it could have been a Sunday. And my mom pointed out the "doughnuts" around their ankles...they wore high stockings, even in summer, and rolled them down to their shoes to make "doughnuts." Thanks to nfldmichelle for the wonderful papers (from ATD Momenta) and those alpha stickers in the title (October Afternoon)!! Isn't that fabric white/green fabric flower pretty? Thanks Kaz!! She sent it to me in Canada all the way from Australia! The white doily is an old thing I found in the bottom of my kitchen drawer. I die cut the brown doily out of some ancient brown canvas patterned paper from my stash. I did the cross stitch to symbolize the Ukrainian heritage of my mother...and actually did lots of cross stitch projects when I was a teenager :) The chicken wire is Dusty Attic painted silver (bought from Vicky-SimplyPaper). The chippie flourish is also DA tinted with TH Vintage photo Distress Stain and dabbed with silver paint and coated with Clear Distress Crackle Paint. I coloured the canvas heart with TH Victoria Velvet Distress ink and misted it with water. When dry, I stamped it with the music notes stamp (Hero Arts). The sign was fun to make out of CI real wood veneer paper. Feel free to drop by my blog www.kellycreates.blogspot.com if you'd like to see close-ups....or if you'd like to read some goofy stories about my family :) Thanks so much for your comments and visiting my gallery!!
