Natasha - While reading your story I felt tears forming. So sad to hear how some people treat one and other. I just discovered your work and am in awe and inspired by it. I have serious health issues as well and some days scrapping is all I have to look forward to. Your passion for beautiful art shows through every page I see. Just know that there are always people that will discourage and your test is to embrace the criticism as a way to improve your ability to overcone evil in this world. I wish you much love and courage in your endeavors.
You are one of my most favorite scrapbookers out there. I LOVE your layouts. You have a natural talent to be creatively artistic. And I, for one, appreciate that you share your talents so we all can learn something new and different. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. And who cares if you do a technique that maybe someone else has done? No one says you have to reinvent the wheel each and every time you create something. Your layouts are still some of the most unique, heartfelt, and beautiful creations I've ever seen.
Yesterday, for the very first time,I got the courage to post my work on this site.I'm a newbie to modern scrapbooking and I am my own worse critic.Like you I can be a little sensitive at times and I sometimes lack confidence. But you have really inspired me...your work is beyond beautiful. This lo really spoke to me not only for it's beauty but your words of encouragement.I wanted to take the time to thank you and to wish you well. You will always be an inspiration to me.
Natasha - I look forward to seeing everything you do I don't always comment because they are all so beautiful. You are unique - I love the lo and the message...believing in ones self is not always easy most of us are so hard on our selves. Being an artist is one of the most fulfilling occupations or hobby's one can have.
I'm sorry that people have made you feel that way!! You do GREAT work and look forward to seeing every page you do, they are all great works of art!!! And I have enjoyed a few of your teachings and love them all!!! Don't listen to other people at all!!!!!!! It seems like some people think that they own certian things? But there are things on here that I see that they say are new and we were doing them 15 years ago?? Who cares, the work is ours, even if you lift something from someone it never looks the same, for one it is always a different picture!!! And if you don't want people to lift, then don't post it on the internet!!! I have done your letters with the foil and the inks and mine really didn't look anything like the ones you made, but it was the same thing?? I would hate to see you quit scrappin', so please don't pay any attention to those who want to knock you down and know that there are plenty of us that enjoy and love your work!!!!!!!!
This is just Beautiful in every way! And your journaling couldn't be truer. So kudos to you for believing in yourself, your work is fabulous. I don't think there's a scrapper out there that hasn't done what's been done before...the joy comes in the creating!
Beautiful! I love the handmade flowers. (What you said above is very well stated. I, too, have been feeling discouraged with the silliness that goes on.)
OH, sweetie, Your work is outstanding and so meaningful. It's obvious you put you heart into every creation. It is part of yourself. Never let the naysayers get you down. They are just jealous and insecure. ou keep crafting and showing us your magnificent talent.
WoW!!! What a beautiful LO, and I love the meaning and story behind this LO...Well said! You have always been inspiring, your LOs are a work of art, keep it up ;)
I agree! I cannot believe you're 'new' to this! It does NOT look like it! I agree, I find scrapbooking therapudic and I think it's more of an art form than a hobby. Good for your for standing up and accepting that there are negative unnecessarily competitive people out there and there's NO need to listen to them! THis page is fabulous! I love the techniques you used! I stumbled on it while looking for inspiration on how to use those Mix'd Media inks and I'm thoroughly glad I did! Thank you for sharing and keep up your craft - you are obviously very talented!
I can not believe you just begun scrapping a year ago! Your page is so awesome, creative, and elegant. I love your work. One thing that I have learned in life the hard way is that people who are very critical are just jealous. You do marvelous LO's keep going and yes believe in yourself!!!

Awesome lo! Your husband and friends were right in encouraging you to just be yourself! Don't let negative comments bring you down. Those that are sending them are just jealous, and I'm glad you now are going on with your life and NOT worrying about those negative comments! Hugs to you...Linda
Again, another beautiful piece of art. I am so sorry to hear that you had such negative experiences! I always think of scrapping a stress release and it should be something fun. There is so much meanness in the world and we need to do everything to keep the scrapping world fun, kind and sweet. Just ignore those mean voices and keep focused on the positive.
Thank you deeply for sharing your heart and soul with us, sweet dear. I'm deeply sorry that you've experienced even so much as one negative encounter in the scrapbooking world. None of us deserve to be treated like that, and it's flat out wrong that you were. I hope dearly that you'll continue to share your sublimely creative, wonderfully pretty pages with us here today and always. {{{Huge hugs ~ Jessica}}}
Firstly Natasha let me say you've created once again a gorgeous page to enhance the beautiful photo. So happy you didn't give up because the inspiration you bring to this site is awesome. Your talent will surpass anything the Nasty whiners have to say. After all jealousy is a sad thing and held by sad people.Don't let a few miserable souls spoil what God has given you.We love what you do and want more.Hugs Chris

Beautiful lo as always! And I can totally relate to your situation. I unfortunately take everything to heart as well, but I always tell myself that people like that are just not happy with themselves and feel the need to give out negativity to others. So sorry to hear about your troubles. Your work is always inspiring and don't let those negative people let you think otherwise!
Ive always loved your work. Its so beautiful and inspiring. Ive felt that negativity at times myself and felt like not posting my work,,but like you, worked through it. I have M.S. and scrapping gives me a creative outlet as well. Your husband and friends are right......be who God created you to be. Theres only one special you. Your amazing!!

I think your awesome... so glad you didn't give up, it is also a choice of therapy for me as well. :) wonderful page as always......
Well I am always in awe with your work! I love all the details you put into each layout! I am happy that you decided to continue in your craft. Scrapbooking is a form of art and creativity does not have rules and steps. I hate when people try to take away from the beauty of art. I have learned to realize that its not about how much people like your stuff. Its what it means to you. I see how you but YOU in each and every layout and i love that the most about your work. Continue to hold your head high and I pray for a healing with your health conditions
My friend, you inspire so many of us with your amazing talent!! I count myself as one of the lucky ones just because I know you! I love that you scrapped a picture of yourself and made a statement to go along with it! I wish you good health and a stong heart that never lets anyone get you down! Love this layout and everything that it stands for! Personally, I'm going to print it out and hang it up in my scrap room to remind me to be strong when I think "I'm doing this all wrong!" Thanks for the inspiration!! FAVE!!!
One more thing, Natasha - there are only 8 notes on a musical scale; each musician organizes the notes in a different way to create their own music. It would be ludicrous for a musician to complain because someone else used the same notes, LOL. I'm a crafter from way back and I see paint techniques, stitching techniques, stenciling techniques, etc. used in scrapbooking every day, and I say BRAVO - well done.
Hello again dear friends! I honestly cannot believe it is already September! Where has the year gone? This month's theme for Donna Salazar Designs is 'change', and for the first time I created a layout about ME. I have to admit, it felt really strange to scrap a photo of myself, but there's a reason behind it. :o) Change... this is definitely something that describes my life these past 18 months or so. I got married last year and that was a BIG change, but a positive one. On the negative side, my health started to decline. Every day is a battle, but I am slowly on the road to recovery. The change that I really wanted to discuss is scrapbooking. I began scrapbooking last year and I am so ecstatic that I did. It has provided me with a therapeutic outlet... a creative world to become lost in. It is a relief from the daily routine and the problems and stress of every day life. But with every good thing, there is usually a negative side. My obsession with scrapbooking grew quickly and I wanted to become more involved in the crafting world. I soon began to realize that this industry can be very competitive. I came across a few fellow scrappers who seem to be the type to want to put others down to make themselves feel more important. Being a newbie in this crafting world, I felt really discouraged and intimidated. I thought that the forums were positive places to share your work and encourage fellow artists. I DID receive encouragement from many wonderful people, but I also received disheartening comments such as, "I've already done that before" or "I've already used that technique in the past". There seemed to be a few women who were determined to prove that they are better than me. And you know what? There's no need! If you say so, then I believe you. To me, scrapbooking is a form of expression... a form of art. Not a competition. I suppose my over-sensitivity caused me to take these comments to heart... almost to the point where I didn't want to create anymore. Thankfully, my husband and a few dear friends kept me sane throughout this ordeal and basically told me to "believe in yourself...just BE YOU". No matter what we do in life, there will always be those few who try to discourage us and bring us down. But I won't allow it. I now know who I am and that I have a passion for this craft. I am going to keep doing what I do using my own style. I am eager to learn new techniques and share with others the knowledge I have gained. For any of you who have also experienced any discouragement... keep your head up and just believe in yourself. Don't let the negativity of others prevent your from doing what you love. Okay... I think I have babbled enough now. LOL
