My grandparents were married the summer of 1928, and because my grandfather was a football coach, he had summers off. Being the depression, he still needed to earn money, so served as a camp counselor up in either Wisconsin or Michigan...so that is where they spent their honeymoon! Here is my grandmother with a summer friend (grandmother is in dark bathing suit) outside my grandparents' summer home: a tent/cabin! Not exactly what this Southern Belle was used to, but she was obviously a sport about it!
