The broom looks taller than the person sweeping, maybe that is why the hold it different?

The chinese even here in Chinatowns all over are very meticulous with their sweeping but these brooms are quite unique!

Xiamen, China - sweeping up

Walking back through the little town we noticed people sweeping the sidewalks and courtyards. They use brooms made of sticks and straw – very different from American brooms and they always sweep with the broom held straight out in front of them, not the position we take when we are sweeping. This was consistent all over the Asian countries but I photographed quite a few of them on this little island.
