Oh WOW. What a wonderful memory to have! I feel that way about a few things I've accomplished - and to have found this and scrapped it up so pretty, that's got to feel pretty good too, huh? Love the tape bits and as far as I'm concerned, you can never be wrong if you use polka dots. My personal favorites!
This is for the July Monochrome challenge to use green. I was originally going to do a Christmas baking LO for this challenge, but it didn't look right to me. Then, I came across this pic from Lake Tahoe and it worked really nicely with the greens! I didn't do much to it -- just cut up strips of green PP and stuck them on the page -- but it works for me. I was in a "git er done" sort of mood when I put this together, so there was not a lot of time spent on technique, or waiting for things to dry. :/
This sort of covers the VLB challenge to use an "older" photo -- it's from 2004, so it's not quite 10 years old. I used to be very involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program. My mom had Leukemia, so being a part of the team, and training for century (100 mi) bike rides was a way of life for me back then. It was a very special time -- I actually found this photo and thought, dang, I climbed that switchback, about 11 miles in! That was not fun, esp. being from Illinois, but it was gorgeous.
