This also brought tears to my eyes and a goosebumps on my arms. It is a beautiful layout for the challenge and brings back so many memories. I actually visited ground zero with my daughter a few years ago. As tragic as this was, it taught us all many lessons, and brought the country together. It made me want to hold my family closer to my heart. Great job Betsey!
Brought tears to my eyes as I looked at this and remembered the sadness of the day but also the spirit of America in the aftermath that made us so proud! Love the shaped, lined paper and how you used it here.
This is a two pager for the challenge on Rockin Scrappin Grans which was to do a page of America......our memories etc. This is a LO I have been working on, and finally got it the way I wanted it. My dd Lisa, my dgd Hillary, visited the Ground Zero area and saw the new monument to 9-11 and as they stood there this huge cloud of mist enclosed the top of the building......within 20 minutes it was gone as you can see by the bottom photo. They left their thougts along with thousands of other from all over the world, on the memory board there .....then walked around the water where each victims name is permanently engraved on a bronze plaque forevermore. A stirring sight even in the photos........and this spririt of the American People is how I thought when I used the title America the Beautiful.
