That is so cute! And I especially love how you take us through your thought process as to how you arrived at the Asian theme and then worked the henpeck theme back into it again. VERY clever, but then - I don't expect anything less than this kind of genius from you. :) VERY well done!!! (And ya look adorable in that pic!)
These umbrellas are a perfect touch! Love the colorful punch work around the photo! I have been by the Henpeck Market several times but have never gone inside! Last year I stopped to take photos of the beautiful fall decorations they had outside. I had no idea what the inside was like. Your LO has me wanting to go and check it out!
What a pretty and light as air layout with all those umbrellas and the wonderful complimentary punchwork! The photograph fits in perfectly, all so "open and loft-like" page, beautifully done!!
The paper is perfect, Laura-I love the way the umbrellas and your punchwork pick up the colours from the photo, and the hen in the upside down umbrella is priceless! Nice idea to use the paper bag from there.
Perfect paper, cute hen in the umbrella & little dragonflies, adorable pagoda, love the different coloured punched papers around the pic, and using the cutout from the actual paper bag you got at the market is ideal. Cute, colourful pic and embells. Great job putting your own slant on this design - FAVES
"Henpeck Market"? "Is that an Asian market," you say? Well, no it isn't, but there were umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, and this paper seemed perfect to represent that. But the umbreallas on the paper looked like those little Asian-looking drink umbrellas, so the page took on a bit of an Asian style as I started cutting things with my Pagoda Cricut cartridge. I used my Pagoda cartridge to cut the pagoda (of course), the lotus flowers, the lilies, and the "drink" umbrella. I also used my Cricut to cut out the hen (Block Party) and the upsidedown umbrella (Sweethearts). The paper bag stamp "The Loft at Henpeck Market" was cut from the paper bag I got at the market. It's a REAL scrap!
The design of this layout is a scraplift of my mom's (Quick Silver's) Henpeck Market layout. She made the blue stick pin for me. And she gave me the blue antique lace flower. Thanks, Mom!
