gasp and gasp!!!! I love this paper collection and LOVE how you used it. Your work always makes me sit back and smile with joy in the story and the pure artistry! You really are just brilliant
Natalie, you are a marvelous story teller, in words and in images!!! I love your "questions" and the tale that they tell and I love even more your design and your use of the "stuff" as the perfect embellishments!!!
WOW, Natalie - your LO's, writing and insights always amaze me. You've told such a wonderful story with just a few questions - I wonder why your grandmother ran away; what she ran away from; how old was she; what was going on in her mind; what she ran to; did she find happiness; etc. etc. I wish you'd write a story or even a book about her . . . or even this scenario if you don't know the answers. I love your LO, as always. It's another FAVE for me.
What an interesting story....and a LOVELY LO! As always, Natalie your techniques are a wonderful backdrop for your precious family stories and embellies! Fave!
Incredibly beautiful and so many interesting details to look at! Love the distressing and pretty pp's. I particularly love how you use "old pieces of stuff" that were kept by your mother!! Another beautiful work of art and a definite fave for me!!
Outstanding and very unique lo; the layers, pp tearing and masking are fabulous! I just love how you always add authentic heritage relics to your lo's...it makes them so rich in history. A beautifully presented and exceptional creation! ~FAVE~
Saw this over at CSI yesterday, and my tongue has been hanging out ever since! So very stunning with those torn layers, and time pieces~awesome photo as well!!
This page was done for my CSI guest investigator spot for the month of April. This is my second layout. CSI #67 used all 5 required colors Evidence: stars, bird, fussy cutting Testimony: I hand wrote a question on the front of the layout, in which I used the inspiration word "chaos." In my full journaling I asked a series of questions.
This is a layout about my Grandmother's box, and it is also a layout about her life. When I saw the inspiration photo for this week's challenge, all I could think of was the story of Pandora's box, all those elements flying out of it. Then I thought of my Grandmother's box, which is now mine. And this is how this layout was born. And also how the story of Pandora's Box translates to her, my Grandmother's, story.
My journaling reads as a series of questions: "Amidst the chaos did hope remain? What caused you to run away from the safety of your sister's lodgings? Why did you reject the job she arranged for you? Where did you run to? Were you dreadfully unhappy? Were you impetuous? Were you just plain stubborn? What kind of courage did you possess after you unleashed the "evils" of this world upon yourself? Did HOPE remain strong in your soul?"
There are a few old items on this layout, the box handle, the key, the latch and a piece of bracelet (that looks like a cameo). Although they are not originally belonging to my Grandmother, they are old pieces that belonged to my Mother's collection of " stuff."
