A letter from my Grandfather to his Mother...
Admiralty Islands 12 June 1945

Dearest Mother;
Your letter a few days ago. The reasons I don't write anymore often is that there is just nothing to write. The same old things everyday. No where to go. Nothing to do. No towns to see. Only jungles. The battle scared islands are all alike. After you have seen one you have seen them all.
Haven't any news about the war. Seems like air raids are going on steady.
Am enclosing a picture of myself on the base photo took while I was sitting at the MMA's desk. Real good for an inside picture. Do you think I have been will fed?
Mother no more to write. So just say I am fine as fine can be.
Love your Son.

The dog tags I had made online with his name and birthday in place of the social security number and his religion I copied the order from the layout of a real dog tag..my mother has his original with the flag from his coffin and the pic and the letter are copies. I still have the originals, I made three other pages like this for each of brothers and one for my mother this is her father..he passed in 1998. He was like many others at that time he signed up after the Pearl Harbor bombing in was already in his 30's so assigned to be an accountant for the Navy.
