Made in response to the Scrap your Stash challenge to use brads. I loved her idea of using multiple brads in a large circle to make an embellishment, and I used that idea to make the Christmas tree with brad ‘ornaments’.I chose a couple photos of my first Christmas that would help tell the story I wanted to tell (not that there were that many photos, mind). I had a few things already in mind to write, but I rang my mum and got her to help fill in a few gaps. The journalling reads: The year of the little red velveteen outfit and the little wooden rocking chair I received as a gift from Darryl and Grace – I loved that chair throughout my childhood, and it was the reason I believe child-sized furniture is so important for little people. After opening up the gifts at home, we headed to Belleville straight afterwards to spend Christmas Day with Nan and Pop. The little Santa hat was entirely Nan's idea and entirely too small for my head. That, of course, didn't stop them from trying. Boxing Day was spent at Grandma and Grampa's for their annual Boxing Day potluck. Christmas with the families.
