I love stickers. Maybe because they remind me of being a kid? You know, when a sheet of stickers was the coolest thing you could have. (Or maybe that was just a sign of what I would enjoy as an adult.)

Either way, stickers have never lost their magic for me. Of course, one of the downsides to being a primarily digital scrapbooker is that they're not quite the same digitally. Although I love adding a stroke around the outside of a sticker to give it that "white sticker border," not all stickers come that way.

For this layout, I turned the heart stickers into leaves on my tree, and to add a touch of dimension, I once again pulled out one of my favorite digi-tricks: outer glow drop shadows. This makes it look like there is just a hint of a shadow around the edge, which really helps with the sticker feel.

I started out by drawing a very simple tree in Illustrator. Then, I just started layering my heart "stickers" just like I would with real ones. Luckily, I could rearrange to my heart's (HA!) content, which is one of those digi-advantages I love. Also, because these hearts are pre-inked, I could skip that little step, too!

I added the scalloped border using a handy template, and I stitched down the alphabet tags. A few of the hearts that didn't fit on the tree, some staples, and a cute glitter heart finished off this page pretty quickly!
