Give a Cheer
This is it, this is my family. This picture hangs as a large print in my DD's room. Its used to hang over her crib (now she is in a big girl bed and the room has been reconfigured). I would hear her listing off eveyones names in the mornings when she woke up. Now she says "that's my family." It was important for us to make sure she understands "family." I grew up with all my family close by and it made me who I am. I am confident because I knew they were all there for me and I was there for them. So now it continues. These people are just the immediate grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cusins, and parents...She was there too, but in my belly. We also keep contact with my aunts, uncles, and cousins (and their kids) several times a year. Aren't we all so lucky to have each other? My daughter knows she is loved...just ask her and she will tell you the long list of people who love her. Its a fun game we play in the car on the way home from school sometimes. Ususally she even throws in the names of the family pets too. Also, she knows her newest auntie loves her (she is not in the picture; she and my brother got married last fall). Wedding pictures are eventually comming.
