This really warmed my heart Linny. I too am a dad's girl, well more like his little tomboy. Its so nice that you had both of your parents live good healthy long lives and so many years and memories made together. Beautiful tribute to your loving, hard working father.
What beautiful memories of your loving mom. She looks a little sassy and sexy with her hand just so on her hip. And you can see that she's beautiful and confident too, Thanks for sharing this loving tribute to your mom dear friend. Big hugs!!!
Gorgeous wall hanging! The photo is priceless of your beautiful mom. I see where you get your looks from. Glamour shots of the day. Your story touched my heart. You should copy it and put it on the back of the frame for all to read in the future.
Oh, Linny, so beautiful!!!
What a heartwarming memory, most definitely a beautiful tribute to her. What a wonderful woman she was ... thank you for sharing!
What a gorgeous tribute to your lovely mom! Beautiful design & colors! Sorry for your loss. I pray I get to enjoy my mom as long as you did yours. Heartwarming pic!
My most favorite pic ever. Dad and me!!! As the youngest of three girls, I'm sure I was spoiled! Probably didn't realize it at the time as my dad was not the lovey-dovey type of dad. He was not the hugs and kisses kinda dad. He was "the provider". And he did his job well. I never recall wanting for anything. And as I grew up and needed a hand, he was always there. If I fell, he picked me up.
He could fix anything! And what he didn't know how to do, he found out how to. He would find 'stuff' people threw out and would bring it home, "because you never know, you could use this part". We had a basement and garage full of 'parts'!!! When he became too old to have the strength or recollection on how to fix something, duct tape became his friend! He still was able to handle his 'job'.
His job was in leather....made to order hand bags. He worked long hours and even brought home work to do on the weekends. All to provide for his family.
My dad passed away, also just shy of his 95th birthday. He never had any illnesses or major surgeries. He did have a pacemaker...but that was all. He was proud that he had all his teeth, at 95!!!! No caps!!!! And he never had any problems with his feet, he would say, because growing up he never owned his own shoes....his shoes were hand-me-downs and were always big for him.
He seemed determined to have his children and his wife know a life of not being deprived; of not wanting for any thing; and he accomplished his goal, over and over again.
