Fantastic photo!!! I love touring all the old churches and cathedrals when in Europe. I can remember the first one I ever saw and how I felt when I walked in. It was one of the highlights.
Absolutely beautiful. Even if old churches are your thing, you have to appreciate the workmanship. I'm impressed at all the spires. The Irish know how to make a church!!! Wow indeed.
After we left Christ Church Cathedral I still wanted to see St. Patrick's Cathedral, and even more so when I could see it a few blocks away. From the distance it was amazing! It was so beautiful and majestic - and so huge!
The day was almost over and I knew I had chosen the Christ Church Cathedral and we wouldn't have time to go through both. But, the crypt in the Christ Church Cathedral had been the deciding factor, along with the fact that it was the oldest structure in Dublin.
Another consideration - I'm the one who loves to go through cathedrals. Its not Bill's favorite thing to do - it was time to do something he would enjoy more.
Then he told me - "We are ahead of schedule. Let's walk down to St. Patrick's Cathedral so you can have a quick peek. Not a complete tour, but we do have time for a quick peek and then we can get back on the hop-on hop-off bus."
All I can say here is WOW! And WOW again! I've been saying WOW a lot since we got off the ship in Dublin!
