Can you envision a time when you'd have a professional photographer come to your home and take photographs around your house that would be made into postcards that you could send to your nearest and dearest? Apparently, during the great postcard fad of the early 20th Century, that's exactly what my great-grandparents did! Here is a sepia-toned postcard of sheep on the farm being used as lawn mowers in our front yard! Behind them is the coal house/cob house where fuel for the family's cast iron stove was stored and which looked exactly the same 100 years later.
