How interesting. You should have saved this layout for Halloween!!! Man oh man, you can tell by your great photos those tombstones are really old. Wow!
Sunday, August 17th, 2014 – I work up so excited – today we were going to Salem!
Salem was really nice and neat and clean. After a quick stop at the Visitor's Center we decided the best way to see all the historic sights was to jump on the hop-on hop-off trolley around town. We were told the narration was very good (which turned out to be true) and that it was a fun trip.
Bill got in line to pay for our tickets and we were very pleasantly surprised when Bill asked if there was a military discount and we were told just to show our military card (and my military dependent's card) whenever we got on the tourist trolley and there would be no charge! How awesome!
We rode it all the way both loops of the tour and stayed on again until we were only a block from the House of the Seven Gables where Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote the book of the same name. On the way to the House of the Seven Gables we walked past an old graveyard and Bill got some great pictures of some of the old graves.
