Our bedroom had an awful design – the wall had a big rectangular hole cut out – about 8' long and 5' high. Bill thinks it is because of ventilation – so if the windows in the bedroom were open there would be a cross breeze through the living room. There was nothing filling the hole – it was a completely open section of the wall. A pair of blinds had been hung on the living room side to give visual privacy but that does not offer audio privacy. We had to whisper in our room because there was no wall to mute our voices – the living room sofa was placed on the other side of the “opening” and that is where the owner sat to watch tv – just a few feet from our bed with no wall and no sound barrier between us.

All she had to do is peek through the blinds and there we were in bed! Uncomfortable! I hated it! I wasn't even comfortable getting undressed in that room!

In our bathroom insects were literally running all over the ceiling and dozens of insects were trapped in the spider webs in the upper corners. She said they were termites and I'm sure they were, as thousands of termite wings littered the floors by the baseboards.

She also pointed out to us that the shower door was not working properly – it had to be lifted ever time it was opened or closed because the hinges were broken, causing the shower door to sag.

I have never been so anxious to leave a place! I really hated it and found it hard to sleep here. I could not go barefoot anywhere in the house – especially the kitchen. The floor was so sticky my feet stuck to the kitchen and dining room floors and the carpet was so dirty I couldn't stand walking on it with my bare feet - I always wore my flip flops around the house! I could not wait to leave this house and go back to a nice clean room on Pearl Harbor-Hickam!
