I can see all of the care and attention to detail you put into every pocket. You think beyond simple elements and create fabulous pieces with meaning and so much heart. What beautiful gifts for your swap partners!
I wish everyone could see this beauty in real life!!! It is absolutely amazing and so unique!! The picture does not do it justice. I am so thrilled to add this to my PL collection. I absolutely LOVE it and when I opened it, I was oooh-ing and aahhh-ing and even my husband thought it was so cool how Pam incorporated nuts, screws and washers into it. Lovely papers, embellies, and of course, I love the birds!!!
Oh for the love Pam, this is truly a masterpiece. I love how each piece is a tiny collage of layered papers & embellishments. Elizabeth told me earlier she had received this beauty & she is so right! You used one of my all time Prima paper collections. You rocked your second PL my friend!:)) PS where is your signature sealing wax??
I made this PL for the January swap and my partner was Elizabeth. The theme we picked was silver and gold. I think the PL looks different IRL because you can't see the collage background or the layers in this photo.
I tried using several different types of card stock at first and wasn't happy with the effect so I decided to get out my metallic gelatos to do a mixed media background. I cut black and white Prima Epiphany paper into squares and rectangles and collaged them down to multimedia paper with gel medium. The texture of the collage was perfect for the gelatos because the paper edges held the silver and gold gelato nicely. I added the gelato primarily to the raised areas and finger blended. I also did a few pieces with pink gelato for some contrast. I then covered the surface with matte gel medium.
After the collage was dry, I cut into cards and used the remaining pieces to make additional rectangles to layer on top. I wanted some shiny silver and gold pieces so I headed out to Home Depot to find some shiny hardware.
Those of you who know Elizabeth are aware that she loves birds so I made that the secondary theme of the PL. Note the swan in the first pocket. I love this quote because it is a good reminder that we should all play and take some risks to do something new.
Elizabeth is the best partner even and I loved making this for her.
