One of our most memorable days in Kruger 2017
Journaling:
What a thrill this sighting was! We were on our way Nkuhlu picnic site for breakfast when Ray spotted something moving on the right-hand side of the road & a car stopping. Looking ahead I saw more movement up ahead on the left-hand side. We drove up and saw not one but a pride of lions in the bush, but very close to the road!
As they were moving in the opposite direction to the way we were driving, we did a very quick U-turn and out they came with us in a perfect position, an unobstructed view of a pride of 17, lions, lionesses & cubs, obviously fresh from a swim, all muddied!
Unfortunately, after a while, we got boxed in but certainly a sighting we will remember for a very long time!
Very frustrating for Ray to have to keep driving & jockey for position amongst the gathering crowd of cars & leave all the photography to me!
