My youngest son. I really must get these high scholl pictures done before he graduates college!

Journaling:
I am so proud of Jason! He and Katie led the Calloway County High School Laker Band to victory in all but the finals of the state competition, where even the band that beat them in semifinals said the decision was wrong, Calloway should have won and taken the championship. Jason showed his true character - a strong, compassionate, encouraging leader. I watched at every performance as he walked among the band in the stands soothing jangled nerves. Then on the sidelines, just before taking the field, he would walk amongst them again giving an encouraging word as he adjusted a collar or double checked a horn. Everyone got a little personal attention, not one was missed or slighted. At just 17 he displayed leadership skills much older men didn’t possess. Katie didn’t follow his lead at first, but by season’s end, she too walked the line and did the same. Their program was sophisticated and perfectly performed every time, blowing the competition out of the ballpark. Even when they were cheated of the final victory, Jason walked among them with words of comfort and encouragement, drying their tears. He is an amazing young man and I can’t wait to see how he takes on the world and beats it at its own game!
