Your story behind the layout brought tears to my eyes. Dogs are so full of love and can absolutely save people's lives! I love this 2-page layout that you made and I know that you will treasure it always. And the fact that you made each of your children a scrapbook album about your pets is wonderful. They will treasure them always, too!
This is such a sweet layout! I love the two page multiple photo layout and the use of the bakers twine! I loved reading your back story. I can relate to your son, high school was tough for me too. Pets are great soothers and friends. :)
Last Christmas, I gave each of my 3 children albums of the cat and dog. I was not scrapbooking when we got them so had a blast doing kitten and puppy layouts. When I finished what turned out to be 30 pages for each book, I realized I didn't have layouts of the puppy and kitten photos for my book. This layout is a lot of miscellaneous pics with us and the fluffies. Each of the 3x4 photos and the horizontal 4x6 has a Close to My Heart flip flap, for a total of 17 pictures. I LOVE those things!!!!
I used the awesome sketch for this month's 2 page sketch challenge. The layout came together so quickly and easily!
I had purchased "Dogs leave paw prints..." die for the kids' books but didn't buy one for me... DUH! so I cut this on on my Cricut. Not bad.
Bo Bunny really outdid themselves with the Happy Tails line, I just loved using it. The colors are great, the patterns are fun, between the 4 books, I have gone through 3 paper packs!
I have to comment on the horizontal 4x6 photo. We got Penny, the puppy, just before my son started high school. I truly believe she saved his life. He was 5 feet tall, 92 pounds with braces when he started high school. He was angry, as lots of 14 year olds are, frustrated that his little sister, 3 years younger, was taller than him!! Every night he would come home from football practice (yes football, the head coach, a wonderful man, was only 5'7") tense, hungry and tired, trying to talk to him was a big mistake! He would shower, then come down for dinner. He would slide down the wall, and Penny would lay across his lap and as he petted her, you could actually see the tension draining from his shoulders. By the time dinner was ready, he was civil again (well almost) 11 years later, he is a delightful 5'8" 25 year old. I just love that picture!!!
