A sand ceremony is similar to the unity candle ceremony. It is a visual way of showing the unity of two people during the wedding. For me, I didn't realize it exsisted...I came up with the idea on my own one night. I wanted an ever-lasting visual way to remind our children (his 3 and my son), that we are ONE family. Each of us chose our color sand so we could always see what we contributed to the bottle.
