From when my Girl Scout Troop and I went to Medieval Times last fall...

The journaling reads (sorry for the fact there's a lot!):
It wasn't my first trip to Medieval Times--- I'd gone there several times before. I'd even gone to the castle in Florida when I was a little kid. ---but it certainly the most memorable of all my trips.

See, the Girl Scout Troop I volunteer for (Troop 6417 YEAH BABY!) needed to decide on a trip for the kids who sold cookies that year and it's really hard to get a trp together in June. Most of us are dancers and we have dress rehersals and shows and things like that all throughout June. It kinda makes it hard to get a trip together when half the people who sold cookies or leader can't be there because they have something else to do.

That was how it came to be decided that we should take a trip to Medieval Times--- a sort of dinner theater place based on a medieval feast and all the merriment that went with it. ---with the girls from our troop. The chosen date, November 11th, 2007, wasn't exactly the best of dates to pick for said tris because we had to go to New Jersey and the Giants were playing that day. There was REALLY BAD traffic and, let's just say, my dad wasn't pleased with it.

We finally make it to the castle where we were placed on the Yellow Team. This amused most of the Cadettes and Seniors (and their parents) to no bitter end. See, my sister loves to wear the color yellow and she happened to be dressed all in tellow that day. Everyone wanted to know if we picked the team beforehand to match her outfit. It was just a very happy coicidence. Me? Well, I was decked out in green and was disappointed that we were the Yellow Team. Every time we'd gone to Medieval Times, we'd been the Green Team!

Anyway, we get into the arena and the show is just like I remember it. The story's always the same but that doesn't make it less exciting. I really enjoy the whole medieval atmosphere and our knight--- the Yellow Knight ---was actually really good! See, the first part of the show involves unscripted medieval games on horseback and our knight kept winning. Every time he won, he'd be given a bunch of carnations to throw to our section. A few of the girls from our Girl Scout Troop caught flowers and they were really excited.

At the end of the games, each of the six knights is given a scarf and told by the Princess to give "this token to the fairest in their land." So the Yellow Knight gallops over to our section and I start looking for some little kid who's going to get it since it's always a little kid that gets chosen as the "fairest in the land."

Much it my surprise, it wasn't a little kid that was chosen. IT WAS ME!

At first I didn't believe him. I pointed to my sister and said "You mean her?" After all, she was dressed from head to toe in YELLOW! The Yellow Knight shook his head and pointed his lance at me! I think we went through this twice before I decided to believe him.

Trying my best not to trip over my own feet--- I REALLY didn't want to embarrass myself in front of noy only my Girl Scouts but the entire Yellow Section. ---I walked down the steps and took the scarf off of the knight's lance. I do believe I was blushing about ten shades of red by the time I got back to my seat. My blush deepened when I read the scarf and found it said "Queen of Love and Beauty."

After the show--- in which the Yellow Knight played the hero and saved the knigdom. ---the Girl Scout moms wanted me to take a picture with the Yellow Knight!

Even though I was embarrassed, it was still really fun and I can't wait to take the Girl Scouts back there....it was, after all, a KNIGHT to remember!
