Oh how fun! My family loves classic cars, my uncle has a one owner (him) '60 Corvette, and another uncle has a '58 Corvette hardtop convertible. Corvettes seem to be their thing, between the 3 uncles they have 5 Classic corvettes.
WOW, that brings back the old days for sure! What a beautiful classic car! I hope you have a blast restoring and even driving it! What a cool story, I see a LO coming up, right?
Today, my Husband, Roger, brought home a car he bought that once belonged to his late father. It was stored in Colorado for several years, then brought up to Alaska by Rog's sister. She later ended up using it as collateral for a loan to open a drive-through restaurant abour six years ago. Fast forward to Dec 26, 2008 -- Rog was browsing through Craig's List (online) and found an add for this car. Rog contacted the seller - after discussing the histroy of how the seller came into possession of the car, it was then discovered that it was actually his Dad's Imperial! The seller was selling it, along with another car, for a large sum. Rog didn't want the other car, so offered the guy a little less than half the asking price for just the Imperial itself. The seller refused the offer adn we thought that was the end of it.
Well, yesterday, Rog got a call from the seller, saying that he was now ready to accept Rog's offer! So he went out today and bought it, bringing it home on a tow truck!
It's a gorgeous car and I really hope we can restore it and drive it around on occasion :)
