I've started working on our Get Better at Photography group assignment 'Religion.' I took photos of a couple of the monumental Polish churches that can be seen from the Kennedy Expressway on our way into Chicago yesterday. This is the steeple of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church -- it's a Renaissance Cathedral style church and was the first Polish parish in Chicago. It was actually planned to be demolished in the 1950's to make room for the Kennedy, but Polish groups were able to convince the planners to shift the planned roadway to the east and saved the church. (Again, thanks Wikipedia!)
