It's tough to think about my daughter being deployed to a war zone, and even though we are standing down in Iraq, there is still plenty of room for a mom to worry about the safety of her youngest.
This is her and her best battle buddy. The two of them look like every other young soldier I've seen on a first time deployment. I'm sure at some point, the reality will hit her and she'll realize that it's not just an adventure, but a real struggle for democracy for the lives of the Iraqui people. I hope she realizes how important her presence is, and how proud I am of her.
