SHCG: What a great way to use all the photos and incorporate the journaling! I love the bg pp! I would switch the pages and move " Zoo" to the top of the other page. Great pics and super cool lo!
SHCG: I've done something similar for Audubon Zoo los, and it's a great way to incorporate lots of info for multiple subjects. I really like your interpretation of this approach. I love the suggestion to switch the pages and add paw prints. I also suggest moving Zoo to the far left and adding a thin rectangular journaling box with two or three lines that summarizes these two pages. I think that will help the flow from one page to the next, kinda marrying the two of them a little bit more. Also, consider swapping the top two photos with the bottom two photos that are currently on the left page. As is, it seems a little top heavy for the poor little orangutan. I like the way the black mats and orange square brads stand out against the cool animal print bg.
SHCG: Really cute pp! I think I like the pages in the other order because I think it's just natural to read from left to right. It's great that you got to scrap old photos- i love the idea of hiding the journalind as well.
SHCG - Genius to make mini-albums on this LO! Given the mini-albums & groovy animal print pp, I really like the clean placement. I think the bindings of the albums are cool, the black borders remind me of professional photo borders & the brown brads are perfect. But I adore Jesse's paw prints suggestion, so I can see adding a dark paw print embellie to the right of "zoo" - either a ready-made dimensional embellie or a paper cutout of paw that's pop-dotted/glossy accented/or embossed to be dimensional. Great scrapping!
SHCG: I can't believe you went back and completed a LO from 1991! Awesome! I like the idea of the flip ups. I agree with Chris about the bindings... putting something on them would add interest. Maybe use white pen and draw the appropriate track for the animal, i.e. paw prints or chicken tracks?? As far as order, I might be a little rigid but to me it always seems like the title should be on the left page since that is the way we read, but I think that's just me. :p Great LO!
shcg - love the idea of all the minis on this page. does it make them really bulky/heavy? id love to see something done with the blank "bindings" to the flip-ups to break them up. not sure what (my brain is very cloudy at the moment), though.
This is a LO of a trip to the zoo in 1991. I am not sure who I went with and the hidden journaling mentions that. I wanted to use all the pics I had so I created mini albums...flip up the top pics on most, and there are more pics underneath or journaling. I tried to make this a fairly simple LO. I took the pic of the 2 pages this way but I put them in my book the opposite way....I am still not sure which way I like it better.
