The pets certainly seemed to appreciate your mom's efforts. I have a throw that my mom crocheted for me 25 years ago: it's a cherished item on it's third generation of dogs who love to snuggle on it.

My Crafty Mom

The top left photo is my Mom crocheting a lap blanket/chair cover out of leftover yarns. She was trying to teach me to crochet (I only recently learned).
The photos are a mix of times over the past 40 years that we use them. I use the one she is making everyday as a shawl when I get up on cold mornings. Somehow I will journal on this, perhaps on a companion page of me crocheting.
You may recognize some very old Mary Engelbriet paper I've been saving for sooo long!
