Such wonderful journaling!!! Love how you put the emotion into story form and really make the viewer see this event through the eyes of your mother and her dad!
Alright........here's another one that got past me!!! Wow...this is so pretty!!!I love the stampin and journaling!! This is what scrapbbooking is all about...capturing these moments to preserve in time for all the following generations to see!! This makes it so easy to see our roots and where we come from.....when these type of stories are told on paper!! Awesome job Sue!!
I love reading your story.....I think divorce was "hush, hush" up through the 50's! Now, look at society!. I just love knowing a lil history with the picture. I really need to see if I can get my mom to let me do something with their wedding pictures. (Love the whole layout!)
Wow, Sue...this is such a powerful photo, and your journaling is so touching! Not to mention the gorgeous design and choice of colors! Very, very beautiful work!!!

Another beautiful job! This album is spectacular....something I know your family will appreciate having years from now. It's important to understand all parts of family, even the difficult sides! Thank you for sharing this all with us!!
Such wonderful journaling. What a precious gift for your children and grandchildren to help them understand all the different facets of their heritage. And it's a beautiful page to boot!
Another gorgeous page - love all the doodling and stamping. Your journaling is amazing too. Your grandchildren will love all these pieces to their puzzle.
Another beautiful lo! I love that you're working your way through all these wonderful photos...and managing to get some great journaling in as well...these are priceless!
Love the scallops, the inking, the flowers, the stamps, and on and on.......Beautiful!!! Your journaling is so special....I really believe that most layouts need to have that special touch of journaling...otherwise, how will our children and grandchildren really know anything about us??
wow these are just gorgeous photos. I can't believe how much I love these old photos. They just have so much meaning looking at them. Much different from todays pictures that is for sure. Great Job again! Oh and thanks for the comment on my Bad to the Bone LO....
You are simply prolific this weekend and your parent's wedding book is so gorgeous. i find myself intrigued by your family's history, especially the piece about your grandfather. The purple theme is so regal and decadent and the perfect combination for the black and white photos. Thanks for sharing your work and a piece of your history.
“The Moment of Truth” …………….. Journaling says: “NOT: Getting Married But... walking down the aisle with your father. ……………… Living in a time period when the word “divorce” was spoken in whispers, my grandparents got a divorce. In my ‘forgotten or unknown memories’ I have no details on what happened or when. What I do know is that my grandparents apparently came from different backgrounds, including different religions. There was a hidden barrier – or perhaps hostility between the ‘in-laws’. But somehow they married in 1925 and managed to have 6 children. ………………
Apparently in 1947 my grandparents separated and were officially divorced in 1953. My grandfather remarried some time that same year. However, he did walk my mother down the aisle at her wedding in 1951. I am sure there was tension in the air at this time. You can see the strain on their faces here as well as in the group picture. …………………………….
So, with this anxious moment, the joining of two young people in love began. This is my mother, preparing to take that precious walk to my father. On this day, April 21, 1951, my parents wed. And I treasure this picture, for I know that my grandfather endured ‘whatever discomforts’ to be present and walk his little girl to meet the man she fell in love with and present her to him. Thank you, grandpa.”
