Your lo leaves me speechless. Not only does it have a beautiful design, wonderfully altered photographs, it has heart and soul. I love the way your journaling speaks straight to your father. This is awesome.
good heavens, girl!! this is journaling is soooo powerful! i love the way you told this story... you just really exposed your heart in it. the lo and picture are *both* fabulous!!
Journaling: Dad, you had always worn this ring on your right pin=ky since I was small. As a girl I always slipping it off your hand so I could wear it on my own. I; loved the design- a lion with a small diamond in its mouth. I thought it suited me because I am a leo. I always wondered why grandmom had chosen this ring for her son-in-law. I never asked, even after I grew up. you knew how i loved this ring, and so you gave it to me when i was 23 years old. you reasoned, “why wait until you’re gone to see the people you love enjoy the things you leave them?” i felt a little funny about that sentiment, but i took the ring and wore it proudly. but AFter I got married, I stopped wearing it for time. admittedly, I was smitten with my new wedding rings. I put your lion away in my jewelry box for safe keeping. I wonder now if you had noticed. Fast-forward to 2004. you lay in a hospital bed with all of us around you, each of us struggling to absorb the shock of the events of those few weeks. i held your hand in mine almost constantly those sixteen long days, and on my right hand i wore the lion again. the final hours were grueling. your brother told us your body was fighting to stay, for you had the heart of a lion. I will keep the lion with me always.
