I created this page to document for my daughter the importance of hope in life. The quote around the outside edge of the paper reads: "Hope works in these ways: it looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst; it discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what can not; it reards problems, large or small, as opportunities; it pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit; it 'lights the candle' instead of 'cursing the dark'" - anonymous. On the pocket, the little book that says what gives me hope is a message for my daughter describing the strength of giving and being given hope, it reads: Sidney-it's important to me that you understand the power of such a small word. Hope is the engine, the key, the wings that can make all things possible. Without hope, life can be pointless. Grammie, Poppa, Nana Sue, Grandpa Dick and now you have given and give hope to me - it is my goal in life to pass hope on in my work as a social worker and mother . So in life, give hope to others and look for something that gives it to you. The pocket has things that give me hope "stuffed" in it: understanding, belief in others, my daughter, and kindness (on the back of the bee).
