Lay stencil on desired paper tape down with washi tape and use a sponge or stencil brush to apply ink or paint. Viola! You have a pattern, repeat in a different color in various areas if desired. Very fun and addictive.

If you don't have washi tape, you can use post-it tape/notes, painter's tape, purple tape (sold on this site), temporary adhesive roller (also sold here). Basically, anything that can temporarily keep your stencil in place while you dab or smoosh the ink through it.
