      Hi Judy, this mini machine comes equipped with a Plastic Shim and a Plastic Folder, so you can get crafting right away. It does not have or need plates other than what is included.     I want something that is small to take to crops/retreats. However, I don’t want something that will bend or damage my dies. Will this happen with this machine? I’ve had some other machines that are very similar to this and when the folders are new, it works great. I like to get my money’s worth out of my purchases and with those machines once the folders are used/warped it would start to do the same to my dies. Thankfully none were so bad that I couldn’t get them back to flat again, but regardless, I don’t want to take chances. They’re not cheap.       Hi,
      I'm not sure if I should be totally honest here. Yes, I do have one. It is in its box sitting on my top shelf to NEVER EVER be used again. I had a sizzix sidekick for almost 16 years. I loved it!! Mine finally broke into pieces. So I needed to replace it. I was hopeful the the mini would be as wonderful as my Gemini Jr.. I love and adore my Jr!! I use it every day!! The mini did not feel well made. Had issues with the dies not cutting and folders jaming. The folders were difficult to find, not in stock. The folders did worp very fast. I did speak to Crafter Companion about my problems, the machine not cutting well and jamming. We just didn't like each other. I'm so sorry, I wish I could say it is a great machine. I just didn't like it at all. I do love my JR. For traveling I would get a sizzix sidekick or a Spellbinders scout.

      The machine comes with all that is needed: a plastic shim and a plastic folder. I ordered extra folders but they are just to have more ready to run through right away.       Hello, the life span of the folder depends on many factors, like what is being cut and how often they are being used. The folders are considered consumable parts and will need to be replaced with time, warping and the dies cutting into the folders is normal wear and tear.
