No, but very similar. Their purpose is exactly the same, however. I think the biggest differences are 1) the Stamparatus is only available from Stampin' Up, 2) the Stamparatus comes with two top plates rather than one, and 3) the Stamparatus can be moved in increments to create some interesting effects. However, the Stamparatus doesn't have a placement feature for clear vs rubber stamps and comes with a stamp pad for aid in that respect. You can use one with the Tim Holtz platform, too, but I haven't found that to be something I need, yet. Maybe with inexpensive clear stamps from foreign countries since they tend to be thinner, but all my stamps are from good companies and I've not yet had any issues. Honestly, I'd say go for the Tim Holtz platform while you can get it in the USA, the quality is excellent, and while Scrapbook.com has them, you will not find a better price anywhere. I have the Tim Holtz standard platform and I have two of the travel platforms. I love them. I may pick up the Stamparatus in the future (not for stamping reasons, but as a "statement," which I will not go into here), but my Tim Holtz platforms are perfect for my needs and I'm very happy with them.
