The hand punch allows you to cut out your own paper with a paper cutter and then leave entirely rectangle or curve the corners with a corner punch. But the hand punch will not cut laminated paper very well. The die set purchased separately will cut out heavyweight paper laminated on one side, with no problem. But you will get the tabs. If you want tabs, no problem. They also have a set that has rounded corners, which I did not purchase because I can do that with my crop-a-dile. The size of paper that I copied from the die set is - 4" wide by 3 3/4" high. If you cut paper that size, the holes with this punch will line up perfectly centered. This hole punch will allow you to make custom cards for your memorydex, either the Rolodex or memorydex styles. Simply cut a 3 X 4 card or photo and punch the holes, easy and crisply cut quickly, no measuring!

Punches crisply and cleanly, easy to line up items, and the cover to empty the punch is hinged so it's going to be hard to loose it...

Love that I can use this punch to make my own cards for my memory dex or Rolodex. It’s very well made and love the neutral color.
The Hedi Swapp wanderlust two hope punch is pretty good for the price. I'm not too sure how long it will last. The plastic is light weight, but the design optimises strength on the high stress areas while punching. I bought the punch for my wife who has recently discovered rolodex card crafting, and wanted to make some of her own out of scrap paper and card stock. I would recommend this for anyone who is getting into the memorydex craft as the old fashioned punches that do the same job are between 60 and 70 dollars where the Hedi Swapp was only twenty something dollars. A good value for a useful tool in this craft.
Great device to punch any shape paper you'd like instead of using the dies (I have both), easy to pack for trips. Only one thing I'd add to it is a thumb indent or grip so when picked up to punch a MDC it doesn't slip out of your hands. I've dropped it several times as when pushing the claw together it can slip from your grasp easily.
this is the best punch , one of my favorites in my larger collection of punches! I love to buy extras and give as gifts to nursing homes and schools for the craft classes!

Will this hole punch be compatible if making cards for an actual Rolodex?

It fits the smaller, business card style Rolodex - mini, I think. I bought one without realizing how small the MemoryDex is. Most Rolodex cards are 3x5 inches. I have marked the punch so by punching twice, my cards will work.
