I was really excited at the prospect of receiving this large ruler. But there are several things that I find disappointing. First, the steel edge is extremely sharp, and has little shards of metal that stick out on it. So handle with care. Secondly, I wish the numbers and grid lines were done in black, or any darker color really. It's pretty to look at the aqua and gold, but hard to read. One of the reasons I wanted a large ruler like this was to make it easier to read. So that's very disappointing. The third thing is, I find it awkward to use. I like to lay my ruler under the area I am measuring. That works on this ruler IF you are measuring in centimeters. But if you are using inches, the rule is upside down. I wish they had designed that a little differently. It was a very expensive ruler, and I don't think I will really use it. It makes a great paperweight, though.
I love using this ruler. I watched reviews on this ruler and I wanted to you add it to make Scrapbooking tools.
I love this ruler, the only thing that would make it better if there was a hole in it to hang as its pretty big to be hanging around on my desk but I love it. I would encourage anyone who scrapbooks or makes cards to purchase!
I have used this tool a few times on a project and love it. I like how it has a metal edge on one side so I can use my craft knife. Also, it doesn't move around like most rulers do because I'm able to hold it down from the top and my my cuts have been straight.
I really like this product but it could be so much better. For one thing the metal strip is only on the cm/mm side I don't use these put it on both sides Please. Its very long can be good and bad depending.. For the most part it works great! They just need to put the metal on Both sides.
This is a wonderful tool. Easy to hold while cutting and doesn't move like a regular plastic ruler.
The first one I ordered had the same problem as others, where the screws fell out. Scrapbook replaced it immediately - which was great.
I like the fact that it does not slip and it has good measurements, BUT for me it is backward. The cutting edge is on the cm side and on the right (I am right-handed). The inch side is on the left (if vertical), although you can turn it around and the numbers reverse. It would be better if the blade were on both sides.
Someone mentioned a hole for hanging - yes that would be great.
Anyway - it comes in handy for measuring larger-sized projects and cutting when you have already measured. Not sure if I would have purchased had I known all this - but I have it and it does come in handy. I just don't use it that often and it is stored in a drawer - out of sight, out of mind.
Recommend - yes - BIG pages sizes, and no - if you find what I say above problematic.
I was very disappointed when I opened the package and the ruler was broken. The metal edge was it even attached and 5 teeny tiny screws came out of the package. There are supposed to be 6 screws and they are so tiny I can't even try to out it back together because I don't have the appropriate tool. Very disappointing.
