  Not a clean cut

  I watched a demonstrator use this die on YouTube and really liked it.
  The die appeared to cut cleanly and was easy to use. My experience was quite the opposite. I could not get a clean cut through the stripes and had to cut most of them out. I tried it several times with the same result. I do not have difficult with any of my other dies from various companies.
  
  If anyone has any suggestion as to what I might be doing wrong, please let me know.
  
  Frustrated.
