I too, kept the Notch and Die Cutting Tool in the cabinet along with the " I'll get to it later" gadgets. Then, I visited a boutique paper goods store and realized I had the tool that could replicate the pricier items. So, it was off to the races...scalloped envelope flap, photo corners, ribbon slots and journaling holders. The curved edge is perfect for cutting gift card holders directly in a greeting card.
As a crafty Senior the ergonomic design is perfect after a little practice.
I plan to continue to "play" with this tool just because it is so user friendly.
I think I had this tool for 6 months before using it...I thought it was difficult to use and didn´t really try. Just recently I had another go and now I just can´t do a page without it!! It´s become a staple in my scrapbooking stash and I absolutely love it!
I love this tool when I matte my pictures. I use it to make corners so I can insert the edge of my pictures, I don't have to use adhesive to attach them. Then if I need to make a copy of one of the pictures, I can just slip it out and then slip it back in. I really like this product, for me the frugal scrapper.
I love this tool. I use it for all kinds of items, but especially for my cards. I like to use it just for corner cutting for any scrapbook item. Its great. Very durable too!!
I have used my tool several times since I got it. I have found that if you have little wrist strength it maybe hard to cut through thicker paper. I use mine mainly to make slots for ribbon. I have scalloped a few items, but found that I had to run a pencil line to keep it straight. I feel it has a place in the craft industry, but my exacto does everything I have ever done with this tool. I would not purchase it again or recommend anyone else to purchase it, unless they had a specific need that it meets.
Much like the comment before. I wouldn't tell any one this is a must have tool. BG will hate me for saying thisl however its very difficult to use as directed. I find my self using only the attachments with a hammer. I am glad to see that scrapbook.com has provided a idea guide. Perhaps I dust it off and try to play with it again.
I've never been into making things that close, etc. With the new craze for papers that have scalloped and zigzag edges, this is the tool for you! You can make the edges of any paper and size into scallops and zig zags (rick rack look).
Had a hard time using the full size sheets that come that way, cause I wanted a border strip that was scalloped all the way around - now I can make my own and know that the colors and size will work. The straight tip is great for threading ribbon across a page as well!
