    BG Rub-on Roller

I might be a little biased ;), but I'm writing this review because I know alot of people think they dont need a specific tool for rub-ons. Really you do! What's different about this tool as compared to a stylus or popsicle stick is the NON-friction application. The rub-on roller's ball bearing is hanging from a suspension spring so that the ball moves over the paper easily and effortlessly (alot like a ball point pen), without dragging or getting caught on the paper backing. What this means especially, is that the paper doesn't skip or move on you causing those rub-ons to break or crack. It doesn't take alot of pressure and it's tip is narrow enough to allow for precision application of those tightly packed and delicate/fine rub-ons.

If you like having a cramped hand don't get this tool!

If you like cracked rub ons and missing pieces, don't get this tool!

If you like taking forever to apply large rub ons, don't get this tool!

If you like working for hours on a LO only to have it look less than stellar because the rub on didn't lay down smoothly, don't get this tool!

If working with popsicle sticks instead of a quality tool is your idea of the way things should be, don't get this tool!

Me . . . I LOVE this tool! And have given it as gifts to all of my rub-on lovin' friends! So worth it!

    Can't do without it

I love, *LOVE* this rub-on tool! It has a large, smooth rolling ball point similiar to a ball point pen that makes intricate, small, or crunched together rub-ons easy to apply. It has a nice solid feel about it too, and a comfort grip. The paddle end is also awesome. Not only is it a great way to go over your rub-on again to make sure it adheres well, but I've also used it as a "spatual" to lift up cardstock, paper, and other embellishments when I didn't like the initial placement. This helps keep those items from crinkling when doing that. All in all, a great tool.

    Throw away those popsicle sticks!!

I must say that I was a little skeptical when I saw this. But I used it for the first time this past weekend, and I was delighted!! I purposely tried it for the first time on some of my rub-on alphas that I knew were pretty difficult. But with the Basic Grey Rub-on tool, it was smooth and easy!! I was like a little kid playing with their favorite toy - giddy and excited!

If you use alot of rub-ons on your projects...run, run right now to the sb.com superstore and put this tool in your cart immediately!! I'm here to tell you, that you will not regret it!!

  • pleasantly surprised

Wow...I initially bought this because I'm a Basic Grey lover and figured it would be good. To be honest though...I figured it wouldn't be anything special.
Well....I was wrong...and pleasantly surprised! The tip is nice and smooth and doesn't tear the rub-on or backing and I can apply really small Heidi Swapp letters (which I previously struggled with them tearing and not completely applying) that come in folders.
After using the ball point type tip, then I use the other paddle side to be sure it's all smoothed down and Voila!! I want to get another one to keep in my AMM Totally Tool Tote 2.
BTW...I'm not an employee of BG or AMM!
Get this!!!!! YOu will not be disappointed!

  • Will Make You Love Rub Ons

If you are one of those people that shy away from rub ons because of past mixed results.... I can so relate because that was me. I would worry about ruining a layout that I had worked so hard on with sub standard rub ons. Well what I have found was MOST of the problem is that the applicator makes a world of difference in getting full coverage & the results you want. The BG applicator does just that. It also doesn't leave indentations on your page from the applicator like the wood sticks & pointy sticks do. This is a must have tool in your tote caddy.

  • Fabulous

How much do I love this tool? Yep...that much! I have used tons of different rub on tools, everything from the popsicle stick that comes in the package, bone folder, stylus, other makes of "rub on tools". This is the easiest tool yet. The roller works so well. It allows very precise control of the tool (which is great if you don't like cutting up your sheets of rub ons), and just glides over the project! Other tools I have used you have to rub...sometimes hard...over your project. It is so smooth and easy!

Try it out...you won't be sorry!

  • If you like rub-ons, this tool is a MUST HAVE!

Honestly, if you use rub-ons at all, throw away your Popsicle sticks and buy one of these as fast as you can! This tool makes using rub-ons in your layout so much easier. I used to use the sticks included, and I messed up as many rub-ons as I did properly. Since I bought this tool, I have not had one rub-on mess up. It has two sides to it and I use both of them depending on the size of the rub-on and the place that I am putting it on. It truly is a remarkable little tool that I couldn't live without! No more wasted rub-ons for me!

  • Rubs on the Rub-Ons perfectly!

I don't own one of these yet but it is high on the list of things to get. I used one at my LSS and I can tell you that it does its job and it does it well! They were having a make-and-take and had quite a few different brands of rub-ons, some that I know are typically harder to get a clean design from, and it worked perfectly! It has a roller end for small details and a flat end that works great for larger portions of the rub-on. I highly recommend this tool for rub-ons, and whatever else you could find to use it with.

  • Thank you Ladies!

I have to admit that I have a rub on addiction. Seriously, I should get help. I have been having trouble with a few rub ons that I purchased a while ago. I have one other applicator and it still wasn't getting the job done.

After reading all of the wonderful reviews (by you lovelies), I purchased this, and I am so glad that I listened to others! It works wonderfully, and I seem to get better results now that I have this tool!
