This is a PERMANENT ink. It transferred well to my stamp and made a bold image on my paper and on vellum. It was taking quite a while to dry on vellum, so I used my heat gun; once dry, it didn't smear, even with a vigorous rub with a cloth. WARNING: The ink will stick permanently to your stamp. I have two heavy-duty stamp-cleaning solutions (Stampin Up stamp cleaning pad with heavy duty cleaning solution and Ranger Archival Ink Cleaner). Neither of these cleaners budged this ink off my stamp. This ink will probably be perfect on non-porous surfaces and perhaps on T-shirts, though I've never tried it on cloth.
This one is never leaving my drawer! It is juicy, yet doesn't smudge. The impressions are crisp and clear with little to no effort. I even used water with the ink and it didn't smear!

This ink is SO good! It's juicy, without being over saturated, and stamps beautifully! I also used it to add splatters to a layout by smooshing the pad onto plastic and then spritzing with a little water! Worked like a charm!

I ordered this because I wanted a crisp black that works for EVERYTHING! Watercoloring and alcohol markers. I am sad to say that I tried this on many white CS papers and the black line bleeds every time with alcohol markers from Stampin Up. It is great for watercoloring though. I guess I will stick to my momento black for alcohol markers. It does stain photopolymer stamps but I was aware of that. So I will give it a 3. It didn't pass my test.

I know the C.P. midnight works for copics. Does it also work for water based markers or will they bleed? 
Catherine Poolers site says midnight works with both alcohol and watercolor. I find especially with the alcohol ink that it works best if I let it dry for a while. I have to say I go to midnight most often for my black ink of choice.
