I bought this trimmer 2 weeks ago and already I am able to do more of the scrap projects I want to do. This trimmer makes frames and mattes easy as ever. The blade cuts in both directions and you can easily measure your paper. It cuts 12x12 paper and heavy cardstock like a breeze. The best part is it takes up hardly any space on my scrap table. I don't have much space so this is awesome.
The blade is easy to remove from this trimmer so you can put it away and not worry about your kids or pets. The blade stays exactly where it needs to be when you are using it. This trimmer cuts clean and very straight lines. You can also begin your cut in the middle of your paper keeping your options wide open for cutting many creations.
The rubber feet at the corners keep this trimmer right where it needs to be and it also has a rubber foot in the middle to help stablize it. The arm swings out with ease and won't swing out when you don't want it to. It is built really well and that is why I always go for the Fiskars brand. They have been a top cutting brand for years.
I would reccomend this trimmer to anyone, espceially people who have limited scrap space, or those who need to carry their trimmers with them. The price is right for new scrappers just starting out and it gets the job done. I personally can not find anything wrong with this trimmer. It does everything it promises to do and more when you think outside the box.

I bought this trimmer a month or so ago. I love several things about it. First of all is the size. It is a bit larger than my previous personal trimmer about 9 inches wide and 14 inches tall. I was a little worried that it would be too big to carry around in my bag. Not So! It fits fine and the features are worth the extra size.
The size allows you to have a full 6 inches on the platform to get a more precise measurement. I make a lot of cards so my most common measurements are between 5 and 5.5 inches. On my old trimmer accurate measuring ended at 5 inches where it basically fell off and it was difficult to measure anything between 5 and 5.25 inches because of the gap there. Not so with the new trimmer. Another cool feature is the guide that runs beside the blade to show you exactly where your cut will be.
I also love the lock on this trimmer. You slide it closed and you can carry it around and store it without the arm with your blade in it flopping everywhere and falling out.
The rubber feet on this trimmer are a real plus as well which keep it steady while cutting. There is also a little flare on the cutting arm that you can use to press down to keep your paper stable.
The swing out ruler is easy to see and can be reached from the top of the trimmer.
This trimmer was a great choice for me. Happy Scrapping to all!!
I have been the proud owner of probably 10-12 trimmers. The most often used and replaced is the Fiskars Triple Track trimmer which has been my standby for years, and years, and . . . you get the picture.
This one will DEFINITELY replace that one. I LOVE that it measures 6.25 in. before you have to extend the arm. Great for matting 4x6 photos. It also goes more than 1.5 in on the right of the cutting line so that is a great bonus. The 1/4 inch lines are ruled the full length of the trimmer as well. All wonderful features.
Then there is the blade assemble and edges. I think with the extended base on the left of the blade, the blade will shift much less.
The GREAT feature that I didn't notice until I started cutting is the mini-cable the runs the length of the blade housing right along where the blade will cut! No more guessing where the blade will cut. It has already saved me TONS in paper and mistaken cuts where I cut a shade to wide or to narrow. GREAT FEATURE!
This is a great product! It is so easy to read from 1"to 12", the 6" mark is on the surface and do not need to pull out ruler to read up to 6", for binningers like me this is a great help. I also love the fact that you can lock the paper in place while you cut!! I also like the rubber slip-free feet. But the best thing is how easy it cuts your card stock or paper, its all done with ease.
I bought my first trimmer from Fiskars years ago, and each year since they come out with better and better ones. I love the 12x12 because you can cut any size paper within those dimmentions. The base also has handy lines to cut the paper or photos to just the right size for the project.
I truly enjoy the 6" of space this cutter offers. It is the same wonderful fiskar cutter with more work area and a larger extension bar to 15". Highly recommend to scrapbookers !!
I like that Fiskars came out with a cutter that has a wider base (6"). This makes measuring items easier. The surface is a different material than past ones have been and is more slippery which makes it easier to move papers around: I LOVE this surface! The little opening where the blade slides thru the plastic guide has a thin wire to help you 'see' the middle where the blade will cut. I'm not sure this is any help and wonder how long it will be before it is out of alignment??

It did not come with the cutting blade, and there is a wire that runs along the cutting blade, and I've only had it a week and it's already come off. It works fine without it. I love the wider cutting surface and it has a place on the ruler to hold down to make sure your paper doesn't shift when you cut.
