Excellent stamp looking forward to many hours of stamping bliss
Both my husband and I love the old locomotives, so when I saw this stamp, I had to have it to make a Christmas card for him. We were just children when we rode in trains powered by the old steam-driven locomotives and we loved them. We couldn't wait until the trains would go around a curve so we could look out of the windows to see the engine up front. There was usually a lot of soot on the window sills of the passenger cars, but that wasn't such a bothersome thing. We still miss those old engines. The diesel engines are all right, but they just don't have the ambiance of the old locomotives. They had whistles instead of horns and when one of them was going through a valley, the whistles would have a haunting sound to them. Nothing like it. I remember when I was little and we would go to the train station for our visit to my mom's family, the huge engines sounded like they were breathing as they let off some steam. I didn't like that too much because they sounded like they were alive. LOL! This stamp is very well-done and the composition is great.
I'm so happy with this purchase.
