The first set, the Magic Iris dies will create an iris that opens and closes when you turn the tab! You'll love all your creative options of revealing a surprise image, sentiment or anything else that you can think of. You can also use this die set with stamp sets including the Super Star or the Before ’n After (sold separately). This set includes 9 thin metal dies, the circle frame measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and the interior opening measures 1 7/8" x 1 7/8".
The Magic Iris Add-On die set creates a large stitched panel to layer on top of your Magic Iris. It also includes a coordinating pull-tab. Included are two thin metal dies, the rectangle frame measures 3 3/8” x 5 1/8” and the interior opening measures 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”.
The Magic Iris Scalloped Add-On creates a stitched scalloped panel to layer on top of your Magic Iris. It also includes a coordinating pull-tab. Included are two thin metal dies, the scalloped circle frame measures 4” x 4” and the interior opening measures 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”.

This is a great die set and will be used often. I could not get it made correctly using the Lawn Fawn video on it. I was about to give up. Then I used Jennifer McGuire's video:

This video is much more clear and lets you know that you do NOT need to buy glue dots. It seemed different than Lawn Fawn's video. I am soooo glad that I found her video. It is perfect for learning how to put this together. It really is simple.
I will make make sure the rings and sausage are made of sturdy cardstock (you can see which one is called the sausage when looking at the dies) . I also used sturdy cardstock for the tab you use to open and close the iris. Jennifer McQuire said the brand cardstock she used, I can't remember which one, but it is a sturdy one. It just makes it more stable to work with before it is attached to the card front.
The die set is one that you will find many uses for. In the one I made that worked, that I followed Jennifer McGuire's video for, I used pattern paper for the iris (sausage pieces). It is really neat.
Is it worth it, yes! Will I use this over and over? Yes! I do not find many dies that I will use over and over. This is one that I will. Even a child can operate the pull tab on this card to open the iris, providing you made it sturdy and have it attached to a good cardstock base.
Use Jennifer McGuire's video, and use good sturdy cardstock for the rings, sausage and pull tab. The 3 stabilizer pieces need to bend or fold over with a curve and not crack, so a flexible cardstock. You will see why in the video. You can use a strong double sided tape instead of the 3/16" glue dots, as Jennifer said in the video. I used my Scrapbook 1/4" roll of double sided tape. Worked just fine. Hope these tips are helpful.
Additional information from Lawn Fawn. Lawn Fawn said that many time the reason the iris won't open is because the sausage pieces were put in backwards. Make sure the top side is up so the go around the circle in the correct direction.
If a Lawn Fawn rep reads this, this is information that you should include in the video, with a demonstration of the backwards way and the correct way.

I love interactive cards, and this style card would be nearly impossible to create without these dies. They are easy to use, and create a real wow factor on your card. There are no instructions with the dies, but Lawn Fawn does an excellent job providing YouTube videos showing how to create with all of their dies.

Lawn Fawn comes out with such innovative interactive dies! This one is phenomenal! Easy to create interactive "iris window " so that a hidden part of the card can be revealed by turning the handle. I know,this is one die set I will race for in the days, months and years to come!

I saw the videos and wanted to give the magic iris a try. It is really easy to make. It's like putting a puzzle together, the end result is awesome. I made 6 magic irises, now I have to make the cards to put them on. 😄

I am excited about the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris die. In the past, I had to make these cuts from scratch. It was very time consuming. That is why I would like to thank Lawn Fawn for their die products. This is going to not only make these special cards convenient to produce, but mass production will be a breeze. I would also like to thank SBC for making such quality products available and often times at affordable prices. I am in the process of collecting these products.

I have wanted this since the first time I saw it and finally decided to order it before it is gone. I LOVE it so much. I did have to search for written directions even though there are a lot of videos as that's the way I think. Had a few issues with understanding (my fault, not the product or directions) but after the first one they are a breeze. I know my recipients will be amazed!

looks complicated; but all the pieces cut out nicely AND fit together snuggly with an easy to use finished product! ... all pieces cut cleanly and are easily identifiable and once the iris is put together it works exactly as stated.

This makes the coolest interactive component! So glad i bought it! Cuts great - works great. If it had assembly instructions to save it would be 10 stars, but there are video tutorials to help me remember the steps
